Three months ago I came across a line in President
Jonathan’s declaration speech, while expressing his ambition to be the Nigeria
I consider this a kind gesture embracing freedoms and
allowing them to reign. But I think his inability to contain the troubled north-east
for over six years, and the excessive corruption romancing his government, more
than the so-called ‘freedom’ is needed to reinstate the people’s faith in his administration.
What does freedom means without
peace?
What good are leaders in this country? From the
politicians in the apex down to the security personnel and the agencies
sanctioned to protect the citizen’s rights? Where ever the blame on
north-eastern insecurity goes, it will always turn back to the military that
were unable to flush out the terrorist for over six years.
It gives me no pleasure criticizing the incumbent
government, but seeing our people suffering and the destruction of our ‘progressive
train’ thinned my senses of patriotism. And because his gesture to the
insurgency is very much of a ‘let them kill themselves’, it is never a mistake
if you call the war a maneuver to achieve something politically.
Can the Menials be Creative and
Radical at thesame time?
Almost entirely, the extremist who seems to be
impossible for Nigerian military emerges from the poorest families who cannot
afford even the three regular square meals. From the poorest region whose
people survived on farming, fishing and local trading, also the most
underdeveloped states that cannot produce even a touch light. Tell me how can a
terrorist from such region become the 7th wealthiest in the
continent?
Trust me whoever is fuelling them is extremely rich,
very powerful and also fun of their barbarity toward the region and the poor
masses. Southern region the self acclaim bread winners of the country are still
benefiting from all the dividends of democracy, but for us, we are no longer
the good and hardworking farmers that we use to be. We have been suffering for
five good years and yet thousands are still being displaced everyday.
It’s not about what we believe or
what we don’t want to believe. Whatever you think you know about this insurgency,
we the inhabitants of the north-eastern region knows better.
Having known to everyone that the war is politically
motivated; it is also nothing but a little-trick and an ill-fated deception,
perpetrated by some politicians in their desperation for power and their
gigantic ‘games of throne’. Believe me, the nation's CEO is fully aware of what
he is doing and all that is happening. And It is not that he cannot do
anything, or that he isn't worthy of ruling the 'giant of Africa '
– but he should have never been their at all.
This is supposed to be a democracy for all not for
few, and it cannot be a game of throne or a game of power. All is needed is
access to qualitative education, a good health care, employment, and security
for all.
We are confident that our military is tight enough to take
care of all possible treats on our national security – today and forever, and
they are capable of protecting the entire nation in every state of war.
But how comes our internal problems
becomes impossible?
Do you set your eyes on the women who gave birth on
their run to safety – off Mubi? Do you see the burned corps of these school children
who were bombed recently in their assembly ground? Do you have any idea how
parent of these schools girls feels for the capture of their children? If you
smell a smoke or fire burning your neighbour’s house and do nothing, tomorrow
it might be your turn.
It is time to think and take action!
My fellow country men, it is high time for us to stand
against bad governance. Let’s rise against this system. Against political hypocrites,
the people inside who pretend to be good leaders are weak from the inside, very
selfish and greedy – they cannot protect us. As I said earlier, democracy is
when leaders who cannot protect their people gave way to others who can’
If we are to stay together, let there will be no
sleep, no work, and no sports. Let there will be no ‘grin’ if possible until
this girls are rescued, until our brothers and sisters in Maiduguri
